Boob Tube: 10 Things I Hate About You

Ah this movie just gives me the feels. Heath Ledger. why.

This movie is the modernization of Shakespeare's "The Taming of The Shrew", (which i will quote later) (This movie's version of course). I love that this movie was produced in the late 1990's. I love anything produced before the 2000's.

Of course the movie had to end with a prom. So typical. But that's what I love about it. I love that this movie is so cliche. The guy falls in love with a girl he didn't think he would. This girl that appears to hate the world falls in love. A girl befriends the new guy and uses him to get another guy but ends up with him. blah blah blah. You get my drift don't you?

"I hate the way you talk to me
and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car.
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots
and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick;
it even makes me rhyme.
I hate it, I hate the way you're always right.
I hate it when you lie."

"I hate it when you make me laugh,
even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when you're not around.
And the fact that you didn't call.
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you.
Not even close,
not even a little bit,
not even at all."

"It's not everyday you find a girl who'll flash someone to get you out of detention"

sigh, enjoy
peace out

tasha eats: Butter + Beans @ SS17

There's such a negative connotation about being alone. But little do we know, spending time by yourself actually helps you figure out who you are and what you love or don't love. Like for instance the other day I was in H&M and i actually went "OK, I'm bored". I mean, yeah, I love shopping. But probably not as much as chilling at a cafe with a good book and good music (+ chatter in the background).

Why do people often go "aw, he/she's lonely. I feel sad boohoo" when they see someone sitting by themselves, obviously enjoying their coffee? Sometimes it's okay to be alone. Being alone does not mean you're lonely. Sometimes you just gotta have me-time.

And so that's what I did today! A whole hour and a half by myself at Butter + Beans at Seventeen.

I love how the place is so cozy and welcoming. The guy behind the counter was super helpful. He explained what each and every pastry was and the sweetness level and stuff. I was really pleased. The girl behind the counter was really nice too. She was so excited when I asked her if it was alright if I take pictures for my blog.

Butter + Beans is this really cozy java joint and I think they're somehow associated with Food Foundry I'm not quite sure. If you're with a group of friends of more than 3 then this place is not the hangout for you guys. The place has not more than 2 dozen seats. Which is why I thought it was the perfect place to take myself out on a date.

I sat in this cozy little corner.
I ordered their Hot Chocolate (RM 8) (You guys must be wondering if I'm on a hot chocolate spree or something) (Nah, it's just been a very hot chocolate kind of week). May I just say how amazing their hot chocolate is?! It's so rich and it tastes as though they made it from scratch. And it's not too sweet either! It tastes just right. I just wish they had a variety of hot chocolate flavours. (i.e hot chocolate spice, hot chocolate and peppermint)

I also had their Peach Cobbler (RM 3) (YES SO CHEAP). It was OK. I just wish they would have more peaches than pastry. But the pastry was spot on too. Not complaining.

P/S: It was raining cats and dogs when I reached Butter + Beans. Imagine how perf the moment was. It stopped raining when I left. ha. I dont know why I'm telling you guys this. well.

Boob Tube: Pretty In Pink (1986)

I decided to call this blog series of films/tv series boob tube because television sounded too ordinary. I wonder why "boob tube" is a synonym of television. Maybe once upon a time people used to air a lot of boob on TV. *cringe* (MTV) But anyway, I'm sticking with boob tube. cause that's how I roll. (I'm pretty sure I'm fully capable of rolling down a hill if someone is willing to push me) (Yi peng/Imran, I'm calling out to you)

In this episode of boob tube, I'm gonna talk about Pretty in Pink. Before I start gushing about how amazing this movie is, I'm a huge fan of it so I could be bias (but really I'm not bias. It really is a good movie. To all girls out there, you have to watch it at least once in your life)

Cast (Just the important people):
Andie- Molly Ringwald
Duckie- Jon Cryer
Blane- Andrew McCarthy
Iona- Annie Pots

Warning: This movie was produced in the mid 80's so the quality of the pictures aren't gonna be so grand.

I love how her style shows her individuality. It's so quirky and weird but that's her I guess.

I really like Duckie's style too. He's so i-dont-give-a-shit-i'm-gonna-wear-what-i-want-wherever-i-want. ha.

"Are you going to class today?"
"I don't know if I'm virtually ready."

"If you give off signals that you don't want to belong, people will make sure you don't"

"You said you couldn't be with someone who didn't believe in you. Well, I believed in you. I just didn't believe in me. I love you.. always."

"I just want them to know that they didn't break me"

If these badly captured stills doesn't make you wanna watch the movie then I don't know what will. (Maybe better looking stills) (But don't, cause you guys are awesome and awesome people don't betray cottonballs' blogs)

Have fun!
